( Ion is the budget brand of Numark.) I anticipate a 102 key pc keyboard with a jog wheel & crossfader attached to it next. I'm very critical of manufacturers cashing in on dj culture with disposable products. but its evident that you were asked for a recommendation. It's unique selling point seems to be the accurate sensitive jog wheels for scratching. This could have been an useful product if the jog wheel was sold as separates & durable. vestax spin.(even if out of stock & also considered toyish ) It doesn't sound like a inexpensive unit to me once you consider these factors. & not eye & ear & fingertips? what if the pitch button were to jam due to debris? your from the usa.how much does it cost? its £99 in the uk Have you evaluated the total additional costs of discover & audio card when compared with a similar priced product. please expand? what are you using to enable you to mix & monitor are you simply using it for scratching ? you didn't even include or consider the additional cost of a decent quality audio card for monitoring in your budget recommendations? The ion discover doesn't have a pitch control slider.so you would have to press the button & keep your eyes fixed on the screen when mixing, keeping track of the parameters. it is worth it.ĭj smackwater what are you talking about? you state that the ion discover will potentially break like a toy & mention insurance plans so its not an ideal purchase is it ? But you continue & recommend the ion discover if your on a budget. Just buy it and you will be happy, get all the updates, new patches, skins, blah blah blah.
honestly, I feel it is the right thing to do, but sorry, I paid for the pro edition so i could get it too.and I know how easy it is to find, or even build cracks for programs. As for the guy that wants me to send you the mapping. The crossfader is attached to metal and the metal opens and closes on the plastic. trust me.alrdy glued some felt into the crossfader because it was bleeding after 2 weeks of heavy scratching (3-5hours at a time). and it will break like a toy.though i feel like i broke it in, however pay that extra money for the insurance plan from the store you buy it from. this thing looks and feels like a plastic toy. the buttons by the crossfader really get in my way.and cause unwanted "crap" to happen when I am doing some heavy scratching, so i just turned them all off.
I would recommend Ion Discover DJ if you are on a budget, It really does work great with VDJ 6, just make sure you tweak it in the options, such as the jog wheel sensitivity and so on.
